Just Food: Transforming Local and Global Connections

St. Francis Xavier University, Select Nova Scotia and the Coady Institute present: a Just Food Fair featuring locally produced food, programs, ideas and research aimed at transforming food systems for local and global justice. Local vegetarian lunch provided by VOICES Antigonish and SELECT Nova Scotia. Come to mingle, listen, eat and discuss.

Vandana Shiva is one of the leading scientists in India, who is a world-renown environmental and agricultural thinker and activist. A highly dynamic speaker, she won the Alternative Nobel Peace Prize (Right Livelihood Award) in 1993 and is the Vice President of Slow Food International.

Dr. Shiva directs the Foundation for Science, Technology and Natural Resource Policy and has co-authored many books, including: Stolen Harvest: The Hijacking of the Global Food Supply; Biopiracy: The Plunder of Nature and Knowledge; and Water Wars: Privatization, Pollution and Profit.
