Erin MacDonald

Manager, Education Programs 

Erin is responsible for planning and day to day delivery of the Diploma in Development Leadership and on-campus certificate programs at the Institute. She works closely with program and operations staff in the planning and delivery of these programs and oversees activities which support the community of learning such as assemblies, participant committees and the Coady Neighbours Program. As part of the education program team she is also involved in the review of educational offerings and research into pedagogy and curriculum development. She has co-facilitated various components of the education programs including Learning Reflection Workshops, Cooperative Inquiries, program evaluations and the Community Development Leadership by Women certificate.

Prior to joining the Institute Erin worked as a teacher in Korea, India and China in variety of academic settings ranging from rural and locally based schools to urban and Canadian curriculum schools. She enjoyed designing and leading extra-curricular programming in which youth engaged with community groups and fostered their leadership skills. She recently joined the board of Antigonish County Adult Learning Association (ACALA) and is a member of the Hive for Feminist Research Annual Lecture Committee at St. FX.

Erin holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Mount Allison University and a Bachelor of Education (Secondary) from OISE at University of Toronto. She is currently a student in the Masters of Adult Education at StFX University.
