How to Build a Movement: A Conversation with the Coady Institute’s Global Change Leaders Class of 2018

with Eileen Alma, Director, Women’s Leadership and Indigenous Programming, Coady International Institute

We know that movements matter—they are one of the only ways to change gendered social norms, ensure accountability of power structures, and influence policy and practice. So, what does it mean to organize in today’s world in order to assure gains in women’s rights and freedoms are maintained and further opened and civic spaces are protected? How do we organize locally on things that matter to us, but how do we also connect and intersect with other movements at the global level?  What unites in our fronts? Join the Coady’s Global Change Leaders class of 2018 as we explore these questions and our possibilities of our own organizing as an alumni network.
