A future food aid regime: implications of the final act of the GATT Uruguay Round
Shaw, John; Singer, H.W.
This paper begins with basic questions as to what constitutes food aid, and explores the outcomes of the Uruguay Round in terms of benefits and costs. It examines levels of food aid, supplies, and the role of the UN system. The paper ends with proposals for a future food aid regime which would benefit both recipient countries and donors.
