Case study of National Union of Working Women: an Indian experiment

This paper describes the experience of the National Union of Working Women in India and their efforts to improve the economic, social and political status of low-income urban women. Five case studies in Madras are presented. Recommendations for the organization of social and economic programmes for poor urban women are presented.
