The purpose of this assessment is to present a broad description of the nature and characteristics of the micro- and small-scale enterprise sector as a basis for planning and designing future program interventions. The financial markets study was intended to describe the major sources of funding for micro- and small-scale enterprises, identify major problems and constraints, and recommend appropriate and effective strategies to ensure the provision of increased levels of financial resources to the micro- and small-scale enterprise sector.
