Gender development indicators: issues, debates and ranking of districts

Development, human or gender, involves myriad aspects of life and living. Measuring development, therefore, cannot be limited to a composite index of a few variables. This study emphasizes the need for a disaggregated analysis. Using a simple, individual variable based methodology, the significance of district level indicators is illustrated in this paper.
