In Nigeria and Ghana, the increase in cassava production has proven that cassava is a powerful poverty fighter in Africa. The cassava transformation involves a shift from production as a low-yielding, famine-reserve crop to a high-yielding cash crop. This paper aims to document the factors which are driving the cassava transformation in Nigeria and Ghana.
