The Performance of the Lesotho credit union movement: internal financing and external capital inflow

This report examines the effects of using credit unions in Lesotho as conduits for getting financial resources to the poor. The author finds that the performance of the credit union movement in Lesotho was disappointing, despite the influx of external funds, because of the interpretation that was given to the principles on which credit unions are based.
