We are pleased to once again collaborate with the Antigonish Women’s Resource Centre & Sexual Assault Services Association (AWRC) and other local organizations for International Women’s Week Antigonish 2021 for a calendar of both online and in person events.
Women Read! Women Lead! Feminist Storytelling for Equity and Justice is the local theme this year, highlighted by a reading with award-winning Mi’kmaw poet and activist Rebecca Thomas, a reading of “Africville” with author Shauntay Grant, and a webinar with Coady Institute’s International Centre for Women’s Leadership program staff titled, “Brilliant Disrupters: How Women Leaders are Transforming the World”.
International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. Significant activity is witnessed worldwide as groups come together to celebrate women’s achievements or rally for women’s equality. – internationalwomensday.com
