Program Teaching Staff – Resilient and Adaptive Communities (Climate Focus)

Coady Institute welcomes interest in the position of Program Teaching Staff – Resilient and Adaptive Communities (Climate Focus). This is a new two-year term position for a dynamic, innovative individual who excels at teaching, research, and community work focused on applying a climate change and adaptation lens to the maintenance and creation of resilient and adaptive communities. The incumbent’s work must be grounded in community-led approaches to climate change mitigation and adaptation.

Under the supervision of the Director of Programs at Coady Institute, the Program Teaching Staff – Resilient and Adaptive Communities (Climate Focus) will develop and expand our area of work around climate change mitigation and adaptation with community leaders and organizations locally and globally. Key areas of work include the development of courses and contribution to flagship Coady education programs, knowledge building and research, and working directly on a range of programs or projects of varying sizes and complexity. The incumbent will demonstrate a commitment to building partnerships and supporting leaders and development practitioners who are focused on helping their communities concretely advance social change.

2024 Knowledge Curation and Mobilization Intern, Centre for Employment Innovation

The Centre for Employment Innovation is looking for a post-secondary student (enrolled in post-secondary in the fall of 2024) or recent graduate (will graduate or has graduated in 2024) interested in joining a dynamic and supportive team.

The Centre for Employment Innovation (CEI) provides leadership, fosters best practices, conducts research and encourages collaboration in the development and delivery of employment services across the province of Nova Scotia. Operating within and supported by the Coady Institute, and working in partnership with government, service providers, community agencies and researchers, it strives to bring people and knowledge together to strengthen the quality and effectiveness of employment services. The aim of the CEI is to foster a skilled, resilient and productive workforce across Nova Scotia.

2024 Circle of Abundance Intern

The Circle of Abundance Indigenous Program at Coady Institute is looking for a post-secondary student (enrolled in post-secondary in the fall of 2024) or recent graduates (will graduate or have graduated in 2024) interested in joining a dynamic and supportive team. This position is designated for a student who identifies as Indigenous.

The Circle of Abundance provides educational opportunities, learning events, and nurtures partnerships across the country. Our approach is informed by more than a decade of working with Indigenous graduates, mentors, and Elders and emphasizes the abundance of gifts, talents, and contributions that are alive in all Indigenous communities. We use a Two-Eyed Seeing (or Walking in Two Worlds) approach, meaning that teaching and learning practices are grounded in Indigenous worldviews, values, and teachings while sometimes using western tools and methods that align with those practices. Working alongside a Circle of Abundance Advisory Group, our team continues to look at ways to decolonize our programing both within the Circle of Abundance and across Coady while supporting Kiknu, StFX Indigenous Student Affairs.

2024 Education Programs Intern

The Coady Institute is looking for a post-secondary student (enrolled in post-secondary in the fall of 2024) or recent graduates (will graduate or have graduated in 2024) interested in joining a dynamic and supportive team.

This position falls under the supervision of the Program Teaching Staff – Diploma Lead and will contribute to the successful development and delivery of Coady’s Diploma in Development Leadership. Our Diploma in Development Leadership is designed for those who are passionate about creating positive change in their communities. The program is designed for a diverse cohort of practitioners from around the world who represent a wide cross-section of civil society, public, and private groups, and organizations. Together, they will learn innovative skills and approaches for leadership in asset-based, just, and sustainable development. The Diploma program strengthens participants’ capacity to confront the complex issues they face and to propose pragmatic strategies for change. Throughout the program, participants build and draw upon a critical and reflective social change framework to enhance their leadership competencies and their abilities to motivate and support people in creating a better world for future generations. The program is deeply rooted in a community-driven and adult education approach that draws on over 50 years of practical experience

Marketing & Communications Intern

Coady Institute is seeking highly organized, motivated, and forward-thinking post-secondary student to join the team as a Marketing & Communications Intern.

Reporting to the Manager of Marketing & Communications, the Intern will acquire hands-on experience developing and implementing promotional strategies for Coady Institute. This position will work alongside the Marketing & Communications team to increase the brand awareness and reach of Coady Institute, track and analyze the performance of marketing campaigns, and deliver strong and consistent marketing and communications strategies in line with Coady’s brand identity.
