Governance
Coady Institute is a merge of two former departments of St. Francis Xavier University by the University’s Board of Governors, as stated in its revised 2021 Bylaws: the StFX Extension Department established in 1928; and Coady International Institute established in 1959. Coady Institute represents a commitment to almost 100 years of community leadership development education. The Executive Director of Coady Institute reports to the University’s Academic Vice-President and Provost and is part of the University’s Leadership Council. The Executive Director is also a member of the StFX University Senate. The Executive Director attends the meetings of the StFX Board of Governors, the senior governing body of the University and reports to the Board’s Advancement and External Relations Committee.
The University, and Coady Institute by affiliation, is a registered charity with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA Registration/BN: 10808 3270 RR0001) registered under the legal name: Governors of St. Francis Xaver University.
