Your support can transform lives

At Coady Institute, we believe in the power of education to drive social change. As a leader in community development education, we equip individuals with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to tackle the challenges facing their communities. We invite you to join us in this vital mission.

Why Education for Social Change?

Across the globe, communities are confronting climate change, addressing inequality, and promoting social and economic development. At Coady Institute, we are transforming lives and communities through education that equips individuals with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to create sustainable solutions. Our programs focus on fostering leadership, promoting inclusivity, and building resilience.

A Transformative Experience

In the past year, we have welcomed 459 participants from 41 countries, each bringing unique perspectives and experiences. These dedicated individuals return to their communities equipped with the skills and knowledge to tackle pressing social issues — whether it’s advocating for gender equality and affordable housing, enhancing local governance, or promoting sustainable livelihoods.

Grace Arach, a 2018 Diploma in Development Leadership graduate from Uganda, is one inspiring example of how Coady graduates are making a difference. Grace returned home and during the height of Covid created a training program teaching 25 girls sewing and other skills. This original group has now trained 68 girls who are in turn now training other girls in their community.

Here in Canada, Mallory Yawnghwe of Saddle Lake Cree Nation first came to Coady Institute in 2016 as a participant in our award-winning Indigenous Women in Community Leadership Program. As founder/CEO of Indigenous Box, she turned a $5,000 investment in her company into $1 million in revenue a year later. Mallory now serves as an advisor to Coady Institute’s Circle of Abundance – Amplifying Indigenous Women’s Leadership program.

Grace and Mallory are helping others in their community lift themselves out of poverty by putting to use social entrepreneurship and other skills learned at Coady Institute. They and other Coady graduates illustrate the profound impact your support could make.

How You Can Make a Difference

We are reaching out to you today because you share our vision of a better world. Your support can help us expand our reach and deepen our impact by allowing more participants like Grace and Mallory to attend a Coady course. Your contributions can make a difference and will directly impact individuals who are committed to making their communities better.

Take Action Today and Join Us

We invite you to be part of this transformative journey. With your support, we can bring together even more leaders to co-learn and to continue to drive change in their communities.  Join us in making a difference by donating right now. Together, we can cultivate a generation of leaders equipped to tackle the challenges of today and tomorrow.

Thank you for considering this opportunity to support education for social change.

With gratitude,

Development Officer, Coady Institute

St. Francis Xavier University and Coady Institute stand on the lands of Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded home of the Mi’kmaw. We express our deep gratitude and appreciation to the generations of Mi’kmaw who, since time immemorial, have loved and stewarded these lands and the beings who call them home. Colonization is not just history; it exists in the present tense. While we strive to decolonize ourselves and our University, we know there is still much for us to learn.

We are committed to doing the hard work of self-reflection and to repairing relationships with the Mi’kmaw on whose lands we reside, including embracing the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada Calls to Action and embodying their spirit in our plans to move forward with our University.
