Join us in congratulating Anthony Scoggins on his retirement from Coady Institute and StFX University.
With more than 40 years of professional experience in the management of international development organisations and programs, Anthony’s career was launched as a participant of Coady’s Diploma in Social Development program in 1979. He returned the following year, in 1980, to facilitate programs at the Institute in the areas of cooperative studies and microfinance. After 20 years of service, he departed from Coady in 2000 to pursue other opportunities.
Anthony spent more than ten years living and working overseas, engaged with counterpart organisations in over 35 countries of Africa, Asia, Central America and the Caribbean.
At different times, he worked as staff or consultant for Global Affairs Canada (CIDA/DFATD), Ford Foundation, Asian Development Bank, World Bank, USAID, Abt Associates, Canadian Cooperative Association, and Oxfam Canada.
In 2016, Anthony returned to Coady as a consultant for the Institute’s educational review process.
In 2018, he became the Institute’s full-time Director of Education Programs where he played a key role in adapting and creating opportunities for Coady participants and graduates throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.
Coady staff held a small gathering of appreciation and celebration for Anthony last week.
