Haitian Center for Leadership and Excellence
A committed group of Haitian private, government and community sector leaders led have joined forces to establish the Haitian Center for Leadership and Excellence (Centre Haitien du Leadership et de l’Excellence – CHLE). Their vision is to build a better Haiti with the leadership and participation of people in all sectors, from the grassroots to the national level. The group was attracted to the Coady Institute’s respectful approach to development that focuses on building the capacities of the local people and organizations to utilize their strengths and assets to drive their own development and to the Institute’s long history of success supporting development around the world for more than 50 years.
The Haitian Center for Leadership and Excellence will contribute to the building of a new, prosperous, inclusive and democratic nation by establishing a multi-faceted Leadership Center that will promote the recognition and support the emergence of exemplary youth, women, business, government and community leaders. This center will deliver innovative and transformative leadership education programs, engage in research on home-grown Haitian success stories and action research in testing new innovations and approaches, and build broad-based public awareness campaigns to recognize and highlight the work of ethical, effective, inclusive, and civic-minded leadership in Haiti.
