Joel Murphy

Joel has been working at the Centre for Employment Innovation (CEI) since September 2019, first as a Student Intern and now as Impact and Innovation Coordinator. Joel has worked within the field of youth development and experiential learning for the past decade. He is driven by his passion for working side by side with youth and community leaders to support them through meaningful partnerships and evidence-based decision making and program design.

Joel completed his bachelors at Acadia University, his master’s at Saint Mary’s University, and is currently a Ph.D. Candidate in Educational Studies at Mount Saint Vincent University. Joel adopts an Engaged Scholar approach to his work and has held various research related roles at St. Francis Xavier University, Mount Saint Vincent University, and Acadia University.

Joel has an extensive background in research design, community-based research projects, social impact assessment, evidence-based program design, knowledge mobilization and community engagement. His area of research is youth development, experiential education, career education, and future-based research.
