Coady graduate Ruth Nara (OceanPath Fellowship, 2018-2019) recently received University of Ottawa’s Joseph De Koninck Prize.
The Joseph De Koninck Prize at the master’s level is awarded in recognition of a major contribution to knowledge in an interdisciplinary program.
“Each year the Office of the Vice-Provost, Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies awards one prize for an outstanding master’s thesis in an interdisciplinary or collaborative program,” Dr. Angel Foster, University of Ottawa professor, says.
“This is a tremendous honor and speaks to the excellent quality of Ruth’s research.”
Foster also noted that Ruth is the first person in the Master’s of Science (MSc) in Interdisciplinary Health Sciences program to receive this award.
Ruth graduated from the yearlong OceanPath Fellowship program May 24 after completing a community initiative aimed to empower adolescent refugee girls in Ottawa, Canada.
