Katherine Fleming Leadership Course for African Women Leaders
Coady Institute continues to honour Katie’s memory by creating learning opportunities for women leaders across Africa. In 2025, in consultation with the Katherine Fleming Endowment for African Women’s Leadership Advisory, Coady Institute established the Katherine Fleming Leadership Course for African Women Leaders.
Delivered in Africa alongside a partner organization, and with a previous Katherine Fleming participants serving as co- facilitators and/or mentors, the course brings women together to strengthen their leadership, share experiences, and build connections with peers.
By offering the course in Africa, the Katherine Fleming International Development Award is reaching more women while continuing its long-standing commitment to African women’s leadership.
“What have we said to the young women particularly, living in this world should not only be for self. We should live and contribute to the betterment of this world for others. When you get older, what you see is what have I done to this world? To others? It’s the most rewarding, a reward that you can get from your efforts if you have contributed to the betterment of the lives of others.”
Learning Together. Leading Change.
