Kevin Good

Program Coordinator on Climate and Energy Resilience

Fraser Basin Council, Canada

The Fraser Basin Council (FBC) is a charitable non-profit organization that brings people together to advance sustainability in the Fraser River Basin and throughout BC. Established in 1997, FBC is a collaboration of four orders of government (federal, provincial, local and First Nations) along with those from the private sector and civil society.

My role is to provide support for online events, such as webinars and virtual workshops. I help coordinate events and support Climate and Energy Resilience Programs, which may include travel to events outside of regular work hours. I also organize and process travel support applications as well as assist with organizing meetings, recording discussions, producing and disseminating discussion summaries and meeting minutes. I also am the point of contact and engage with individuals, organizations, and other stakeholders on program updates and opportunities.

“I hope to gain leadership skills, knowledge, tools and experience I can utilize as I grow as a leader. I want to learn from other cohort members and their life experiences and to foster life time friendships and networks so we may grow together and share ideas we can change our communities for the better.”

St. Francis Xavier University and Coady Institute stand on the lands of Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded home of the Mi’kmaw. We express our deep gratitude and appreciation to the generations of Mi’kmaw who, since time immemorial, have loved and stewarded these lands and the beings who call them home. Colonization is not just history; it exists in the present tense. While we strive to decolonize ourselves and our University, we know there is still much for us to learn.

We are committed to doing the hard work of self-reflection and to repairing relationships with the Mi’kmaw on whose lands we reside, including embracing the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada Calls to Action and embodying their spirit in our plans to move forward with our University.
