Gender-based violence is a persistent threat to women’s empowerment in Ethiopia, as it is globally. Therefore, Engage partner, Women in Self Employment (WISE), developed a mixed-methods study to investigate the extent to which WISE SACCOs play a role in reducing domestic violence. In other words, WISE sought to explore the relationship between enhancing women’s economic empowerment and their experiences of domestic violence.
