Coady Institute believes in the power of ordinary citizens to do extraordinary things and, for the past 60 years, we have ensured that citizens remain at the centre of the development process. With your help, working together with local and global change leaders, we can make this a year of local and global action.
Coady International Institute hosted an Open House, December 2, in celebration of the institute’s 60th anniversary. The reception included several funding announcements, totaling more than $1 million supporting Coady’s commitment to, “a full and abundant life for all”.
We are excited to announce our 2020 education programs! In addition to ongoing programming for Youth, Indigenous, and Women leaders, we are pleased to announce a fresh and globally informed slate of certificate offerings for 2020 that will support local and global leaders in working together to bring about lasting economic and social change.
In the early part of their fellowships, Rosa Marina and Shirley were welcomed into the classroom for Coady’s Indigenous Women in Community Leadership (IWCL) program for First Nations, Métis, and Inuit women in Canada. Following the program, they participated in the IWCL Alumni Gathering that welcomed approximately 100 Indigenous women leaders back to campus for an opportunity to come together, forge connections, collaborate, and amplify their impact.

Drawing on our Collective Strengths to Promote Civic Leadership in these Extraordinary Times
We are hearing that around the world, Coady graduates and their organizations are finding ways to support their communities to respond to the COVID-19 crisis. For that reason, we are convening a series of community conversations of Coady grads to share ideas and experiences, questions and challenges as to how we can best respond to COVID-19, using an asset-based, community driven approach.
