Last week, Coady’s Rethinking Partnerships class welcomed Town of Antigonish Mayor Laurie Bouchie, to campus. She visited with the 27 participants of the Rethinking Partnership elective and certificate class. Most recently, the Town of Antigonish announced partnership with Municipality of the County of Antigonish, StFX University, and the Antigonish Skatepark Collective to launch a skate park in Antigonish. During the week, the participants also travelled to Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada on a field trip focused on urban partnerships for social change where they visited with community organizations and elected municipal officials including Halifax Regional Municipality Mayor Mike Savage at Halifax city hall. The participants also lead a session for Dalhousie University international development studies students, acting as “living libraries”, answering questions about working in the global South.
