Longtime Coady Partners working Together to Address Crisis in India

As the Covid-19 global pandemic in India deepens, SEWA Director Reema Nanavaty informed Coady how the crisis is affecting its nearly two million members. While Coady is unable to provide emergency funding requests, executive director Gord Cunningham and senior program staff member Yogesh Ghore were able to work with Comart Foundation, already a Coady funder for a project with SEWA, to secure an additional $500,000 to help SEWA deal with the immediate emergency as well as support to its members in rebuilding livelihoods.

ENGAGE! Women’s Empowerment and Active Citizenship is a five-year initiative co-designed by Coady Institute and five partner-organizations in Ethiopia, India, Tanzania, Bangladesh, and Haiti. The project’s goal is to advance gender equality and poverty reduction by enhancing women’s capacity to participate in the social and economic life of their communities.

June 15 | The Indigenous Innovation Initiative and the Circle of Abundance at Coady Institute have partnered to host a summer virtual celebration of Indigenous Innovation Leadership. This will also be the launch of the Indigenous Innovation Initiative Paddles UP! fundraising campaign. Each component of this celebration will acknowledge, amplify, and tell the story of Indigenous innovation leadership in Canada.

Sister to Sister Mentorship Program begins for 2021

The Nobel Women’s Initiative and Coady International Institute are excited to welcome 15 emerging women leaders to our nine-week advocacy and communications program for young women activists. Together, our sisters from Mexico, Iraq, Liberia, Palestine, Guatemala, Honduras, Nigeria, Sudan, Democratic Republic of Congo, Egypt and Myanmar/Burma will build a community of care and support; strengthen their capacities and skills, and co-create a new vision for inclusive feminist peacebuilding and women’s rights advocacy.
