ADEMI (The Association for the Development of Enterprises) was developed as a way of addressing the plight of urban poor by 'democratising' credit. The decision to adopt a business approach to microcredit was the first key strategic decision taken by ADEMI. A number of other key strategic decisions in ADEMI's life are documented in this paper.
