Growing sustainable communities

This paper draws on two primary sources in an attempt to deepen our understanding of sustainability. First, it looks at the experience of a community in rural, Appalachian Ohio which provides a concrete picture of what is already occurring in the field, and helps us understand the processes that fuel sustainably-based community transformation. Second, this paper draws from the study of complex systems to suggest how we might help sustainable communities emerge.
