Integrated value chain development as a tool for poverty alleviation in rural mountain areas

This paper presents the results of value chain development in the Hindu Kush-Himalayas mountain areas. It looks at the need to adapt a generic value chain framework to the mountain context and looks at mountain specificities. It also examines the framework for value chain development in the mountains, and presents case studies.
