Description
Jamaica is an example of the effect of economic globalization on the world's developing countries. Restructuring policies put forth by organizations such as the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank have crippled Jamaica's efforts toward self-reliant development while enriching the lenders. Featuring interviews with former Jamaican Prime Minister Michael Manley, Deputy Director of the IMF Stanley Fisher and President of Haiti Jean-Bertrand Aristide, this film portrays the relationship between Jamaican poverty and the practices of international lending agencies while driving home the consequences of globalization.
