This paper examines the relationship between natural gas extraction, state restructuring and political mobilization among indigenous peoples in Bolivia. The paper looks at the impact of a natural gas operation on the Guarani community of Cumandaroti. Residents of the community, as well as their crops and livestock, have been harmed by the gas extraction activities and as a result, have led several protests demanding restitution.
