Protection in practice: the protection of children's rights in situations of armed conflict: UNICEF experience in Burundi

In 1997, UNICEF Burundi appointed two Child Protection Officers. This document flags the issues that they encountered ranging from the positioning of child protection within the UNICEF field office to logistical problems of transport and communications. It aims to contribute to an improved understanding of child rights in situations of armed conflict, and to provide suggestions to future officers.
