Description

This documentary exposes the dreadful living conditions of 1,700 Cree in Northern Ontario. Hundreds of families have no running water or electricity in a village where temperatures drop to minus 40 degrees. In October 2011, the band chief, Theresa Spence, asked the Canadian Red Cross for help. A state of emergency was declared to confront the severe housing crisis. In this film, politicians and members of the community speak out about the shocking poverty.
