Title
The Third World and the international economic order
Author
Haq, Mahbub ul
Description
This paper is based on five lectures given by Mahbub ul Haq in November 1975 as the second series of Turkeyen Third World Lectures to be delivered in Georgetown, Guyana. The significance and importance of these lectures lie in the fact that at last the Third World is making a statement to the world - a statement that we know what is best for us and that we are a little tired of patronage and tutelage; that we seek not only political, but economic independence and that we seek psychological and intellectual independence and are prepared to discuss our problems, our hopes, and our aspirations in the Third World.
