This film centres on the lives of women of Tanzania and Mozambique who work as stone crushers. The women, many who are single mothers, labour against the backdrop of quarries opened by contractors using heavy machinery. Amidst humour, song and dance, the women form a mutually supportive network that helps them endure the physical, mental and emotional tension of this back-breaking work.
