This comparative analysis contains case studies of specific products developed by two commercially oriented microfinance institutions. This paper will describe the new product characteristics that have been used to serve the customers and compete more effectively. As well, the conditions that motivated product innovation and the product packaging is also discussed. This comparative analysis will evaluate the success of these products in helping the commercial microfinance institutions that developed them achieve their goals of being client driven and financially viable.
