Insurance provision in low-income communities: Part II: initial lessons from micro-insurance experiments for the poor

This report analyzes current practice in relation to principles involved in offering insurance to the low-income market. Using evidence from thirty-two microfinance institutions, cooperatives, private companies, and other organizations that have already developed insurance products, this report documents the current state of micro-insurance and identifies lessons for microfinance institutions interested in developing their own insurance products.
