Description
This film confronts the immense personal and political costs of the continent's human rights abuses. Using films, letters, newsreels and dramatization, the film reconstructs the life of Marof Achkar, which closely parallels the rise and fall of Africa's own hopes for independence. Achkar was Guinea's UN ambassador, an articulate international spokesman who was imprisoned and executed in 1971.
