Description
The first issue of The Catholic Worker newspaper was distributed on May Day, 1933, in New York's Union Square. As people across the country read the newspaper, they flocked to New York to help meet the needs of unemployed and homeless during the Great Depression. Based on oral history interviews, this documentary explores the stories of twelve women who were involved in the early years of the Catholic Worker movement.
