Description

Robert Flaherty (1884-1951) has been credited with being the father of the modern documentary film.  This film presents the complex view of the man and his work. It includes comments from Flaherty himself, as well as his peers, family, and descendants of the people captured in his films - the Inuit, the Samoans, and the people of the Aran Islands, off the western coast of Ireland.
