In the first part of this paper the authors address the question of poverty in the South Pacific, and assess the applicability of Banking with the Poor techniques to the region; the second part contains the report of consultations conducted in a number of South Pacific countries under the UNDP's Asia-Pacific Regional Poverty Alleviation Program.
