Co-operative organizations in Western Canada

This paper documents the role of co-ops through a statistical analysis of types, sizes and membership. Given their economic importance, the question is raised as to their impact on industries and economies in which they operate. The theoretical pricing and output behaviour of co-ops and the implications of this theory for public policy and co-op behaviour are examined.
