Commercial banks in microfinance: new actors in the microfinance world

The purpose of this paper is to describe some of the issues facing all commercial banks interested in entering microfinance. It briefly documents the experience of these banks with microfinance programs and draws conclusions concerning their future as large-scale providers of microfinance services.
