Credit Unions: Effective Vehicles For Microfinance Delivery

This document first highlights credit union strengths for delivering microfinance services, then discusses credit union challenges and describes the technical assistance strategy of the World Council of Credit Unions (WOCCU) to meet these challenges, and finally provides data on the performance of credit unions participating in WOCCU technical service programs in terms of outreach and sustainability: Bolivia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Kenya, Nicaragua, Philippines, and Poland.
