Description

In many African countries, more than half a million women die during pregnancy or childbirth each year. The film follows Grace Kodindo, an obstetrician in the impoverished country of Chad. One in eleven women in Chad will die during pregnancy or childbirth. An investigation shows that a few poor countries have succeeded in reducing maternal mortality. One reason is that influential people cared enough to make the issue a priority.
