Author

Nagarajan, Geetha

Description

This report examines the provision of microfinance services in countries emerging from armed conflicts. The author stresses the importance of microenterprises in these countries in providing employment and income, but also states that microfinance institutions established in these situations have problems with sustainability. The paper examines experiences of the ILO in such situations, especially in Cambodia and Central America, to identify lessons learned.
