Egypt: We Are Watching You
This documentary spotlights Egypt's new democracy and highlights the importance of citizen participation in shaping and securing it. In 2005, President Mubarak announced that Egypt would hold multi-party presidential elections. At the same time, three women activists started a grassroots campaign to empower the public and hold the government accountable. They film the election process, capturing violence and voter fraud, and broadcast the footage on their website.
