Farm interest groups and Canadian agricultural policy
Wilson, Barry; Laycock, David; Fulton, Murray
Wilson examines the weaknesses of the farm lobby in Ottawa, resulting from a lack of ideology, the growth of a narrow commodity based interest groups and co-optation of farm interests groups by government. Laycock analyses the history of farmers in politics. Fulton uses a theoretical approach to explain why farm groups are more adept at technical than policy solutions.
