Title

From 'medical miracles' to normal(ised) medicine: AIDS treatment, activism and citizenship in the UK and South Africa

Author

Robins, Steven

Description

This paper examines the cultures of activism and illness and treatment experiences of UK and South African AIDS activists. It investigates the differences between and implications of Northern and Southern experiences and responses to anti-retroviral (ARV) therapy. The paper suggests that these different contexts are increasingly becoming obstacles to mobilisation.
