This is a story of women of black Africa--their strengths & courage, struggles, concerns and challenges. It pictures the efforts of these women to survive and prosper, reflecting the condition of women everywhere, especially the poor. Produced by Flora M'mbugu and shot in Tanzania, this film portrays women's multiple roles as provider, mother, water-carrier, wood-gatherer, cook and entrepreneur. Finally, it dramatically illustrates that hope lies in women's support of each other.
