Making a difference? Gender and participatory development

This paper examines participatory development and related feminist concerns. Projects and processes that appear inclusive may actually be supportive of inequality towards women. A number of challenges arise once a closer look is taken at participatory development and questions are asked about who participates, in what and on what basis, who benefits and who loses out.
