Description

Red Crow Mi'gMaq reservation, 1976: Every Indian child under the age of sixteen must attend St. Dymphna's residential school. This means being at the mercy of the evil agent who runs the school. Teenaged Aila sells drugs and earns enough money to pay her 'truancy tax', keeping her out of St. Dymphna's. But when Aila's drug money is stolen and her father returns from prison, Aila's world is destroyed. Her only options are to run or fight, and Mi'gMaq don't run.
