Description

This silent film from 1938 tells the Antigonish Movement story of adult education and co-operative mobilization. Footage includes images of the dire conditions in Cape Breton, the activities of the mining, fishing and farming families, and the work of study clubs, co-operatives, and the building of Tompkinsville. The film was supported by the Harmon Foundation and was distributed by the Co-operative League of the United States, and was used widely all over North America.
